I have had appointments and on several occasions they have cancelled at the last minute (1 hour before the appointment). I have also been there for a manicure on a Sunday (arriving 15 minutes before, as they state you must) and their staff did not even turn up to work. In short, the people who work there have a poor attitude and the prices are sky high - AVOID.

My wife was treated to a full manicure and pedicure for her birthday. She now wishes she hadn't been. When the nail polish wore off a few weeks after the treatment, she found the manicurist had dug away her nail under the cuticle and there was now a rough trench right across her nail. She complained to the manageress, who could not have cared less. She accused my my wife of having a nail infection and trying to pass that off as Bliss' fault! She was then offered a 'fill in', which she took advantage of.

However, the nails grew (as nails do) and the acrylic came loose. She was told that Bliss did not have anyone there who could do the refill, and she should go to another salon to get it fixed at her expense. She was also told that the manageress would phone back with a solution to the problem. Needless to say, she never got her call.

The nail has turned black now and is peeling off the nail bed. As you can imagine, it looks dreadful and Bliss could not care less that one of their beauticians has caused major distress as well as pain to one of their clients. WHATEVER YOU DO, THINK VERY HARD AND LONG BEFORE GOING TO BLISS. I wish we had read some of the other comments here before committing to go there.

Dreadful experience, terrible customer service. They never answer the phone and their messaging service is often broken. I had booked a pedicure a month in advance as I know how hectic they can get. When I turned up for my afternoon appointment they told me that the nail technician had called in sick that morning but they hadn't been able to contact me (my mobile had been on all day with a voicemail service), and the next available appointment I was offered was 2 weeks later! They offered me some money off, so I decided to give them another chance (not the first time I had been cancelled but about the 6th in the few years I have been going there, though usually at least with some notice). The day of my next appointment I get a call around lunchtime saying the same thing has happened and my appointment is again cancelled.

Never going there again. A lot of my friends have defected to other spas such as the Urban Retreat, so I think I will be joining them! They also have bad stories to tell about Bliss: being burnt by boiling bikini wax, pedicurist causing an ingrown toenail, manicure splitting all the nails so have to be cut off, hidden extras for facials that then cause allergic reactions... Not good.

Terrible service! I won't book anything there again. You would think at those prices they would have great customer service, but no.

I was very disappointed in my treatment at Bliss. I found it incredibly overpriced, not helped by tax being added. I also felt they pushed their products and facial extras; when I was presented with the basket of them at reception and I then declined, this was at best met with an offhand and unfriendly manner. I didn't like changing in a corridor either. I will not be going again!

Upon my return from a 5-day business trip in India, I felt like treating myself to some well-deserved pampering. I called Bliss and arranged a few treatments 2 weeks later.

Had a facial with their top beauty therapist, called Maret. She made my face tingle all over, which felt great, especially after being in sweltering heat for 5 days with my face feeling clammy and my pores blocked. She gave me some great after-care advice. She really knows her stuff and any lady who wishes to truly experience a wonderful facial by an expert facialist must go to see her.

My second treat was a 75-minute massage with their masseur Chris. WOW! In all of the years I have had massage treatments, that was undoubtedly by far the best massage I have ever had in my life (it was also the first time I've ever had a male therapist). To all of my girls out there, if your body is feeling like an out-of-tune piano, I would advise you to go and see Chris to finely tune your body, mind and spirit, as you will feel amazing afterwards.

Lastly, I had a pedicure with Saula. Saula is a very experienced and skilled nail technician, not to mention funny too. She did a great job on my feet.

I have already made appointments to return in three weeks' time.

Way too expensive for what they offer - which in truth isn't any different from what you can get for about 40% less at any other London spa. Last time I went, I had a thoroughly excellent mani/pedi with Keshia, who couldn't have been sweeter or more skilful; however, she's the first Bliss therapist I can, hand on heart, say was any more than civil.

There are so many little details Bliss London needs to iron out if it's to be brought up to the standard of the NYC spas: they keep you waiting for hours on the phone, then when someone does deign to answer, you're told to hold without waiting for a response; clients waiting for nail treatments are kept hanging around in the upstairs shop while staff chat amongst themselves; the downstairs treatment rooms aren't anywhere near as nice as the SpaNK ones; there's a slightly snotty attitude throughout. If it wasn't so outrageously overpriced you could overlook some of these niggles, but I doubt anyone at Bliss really cares...

Went to Bliss with a couple of friends to celebrate one of my friend's birthday. Unfortunately, we all arrived at different times and we were all late. Reception were pretty friendly with us all, even though they were a little abrupt when asking us to change quickly. As we were late, most of the therapists just wanted to rush us through as they had clients to see afterwards, which was understandable.

We all agreed that the therapist who gave the best treatments was Chris Campbell. My friends had the 'Rapid Rub' and I had the 'Blissage 60'. Chris did his best to give us all a full treatment, even though we'd been late, and kindly took 5-8 minutes out of his clear up time to let us experience as full a treatment as possible. My friend whose birthday it was, was really pleased by this.

I will go back there again, but only for a massage with Chris, and when I do I will make sure I arrive at least 15 minutes early.

I recently attended Bliss after being out of the country for a year. The last time I went there before leaving the UK was to have a pedicure and a massage, which to tell you the truth was not that great. Since returning to the UK a month ago, a friend advised me that I should go there and have a 'blissage 75' massage treatment with new therapist Chris.

Well, the general service from the staff may not be very good, but believe me when I say that you should just go there to have a massage treatment with Chris, as it was the best massage I have ever had in London.

Bliss has really gone downhill since it opened. They have cut down treament times but increased the prices, meaning rushed and not very efficient services.

The manicure and pedicures used to bring me there but they are SO overpriced! You get the same result in any other cheaper salon.

I also find the staff rather sharp and very quick to say no. I asked for a locker to put my many shopping bags into - a simple request; however, I was told the lockers are only for people "spending more time than an hour's manicure here" - charming!

Sooooo not what I thought it would have been. AVERAGE... and my Brazilian bikini wax, well, the therapist just wanted me in and out! I had to tweezer off the hairs that she 'missed' - i.e. couldn't be bothered to do. No discount offered on the poor treatment either. I was given an option of discount on my 'next' treatment (!?) Doubt I'll be going back! Nice showers and products though - I'd stick to buying these. I've heard the New York spa is better.

I have been going to Bliss since it first opened in London. After reading previous reviews on here, I have to say that it has been portrayed as a rather awful place, when this is really not the case. A few years ago it was an amazing spa, but I have noticed over the past year the service has been going downhill. Some of the staff are not as attentive as previous staff, on several occasions the appointments have been running more than 5 minutes late, and they have recently increased prices. Also, they really need to review their check in system, as this is the part that seems to delay most clients in going to get ready for their treatment.

However, despite all of this, overall the spa is still one of the best places to go for treatment. I still find the staff pleasant and willing to try to accommodate your needs, and the treatments are divine. Personally I still believe they do the best manicures and pedicures in London. The triple oxygen facial is also a must! Tip: Get to the spa 15 minutes in advance, so that if you do have to wait to check in, you still have time to get ready for your appointment and they cannot say that you were late.

Oh dear. Booked a pedicure here, for myself and a friend. Specified when booking that we wished to sit together. Arrived. Treated with utter contempt. Told we couldn't sit together as a therapist was off sick. Didn't see what difference that made. We were spoken to as if we were surplus to requirements, and had to call the manager when they refused to guarantee that my credit card wouldn't be charged (when we declined the treatments). Will not go back.

Very rude and unhelpful admin staff. I felt like I was a schoolchild being told off for bad behaviour. Having been told to wait in the waiting room for my facialist I was then kept waiting for 30 mins. Finally I was told off for being late! Odd experience, since it was something I was paying for! Will not go back. Ever!

I went to Bliss about a month ago and it was utter chaos. I had about 2 treatments cancelled, so I was rather disappointed. But it was due to a new computer system that they had implemented. When they eventually got back to me the girl on the phone was very sweet and helped me book in my two appointments for the following week.

When I got there all the bad vibes that I had about the spa disappeared. It was so clean, and I was greeted straight away and shown downstairs. I had an amazing Triple Oxygen facial and also had my eyebrows threaded (a new experience for me - they look awesome). I then headed back upstairs for a manicure and pedicure, which again was fab - a fantastic job. When I came to pay I was given a nice goody bag by the lovely girls on the desk!

I will definitely be visiting the spa again. Oh, and their products really work too!

Very disappointed with Bliss. I made a booking three weeks in advance for an almond pedicure. A week before my appointment, a lady from the Spa called and pressured me into changing the time of my appointment to an earlier time. One hour before my appointment they cancelled it as the therapist was 'sick'.

I have had great experiences at Bliss in NY and was thrilled when Bliss London opened.

I booked in for a massage and a pedicure. On arrivial I was shown to a cramped changing room that felt like a corridor, then on to a tiny waiting room where I waited and waited and waited until finally my therpist turned up.

The treatment room was (as a previous reviewer mentioned) reminiscent of a hospital ward. The massage was great and this is the one element I can't fault.

Afterwards I was shown back to the waiting room and after what felt like well over a half hour a receptionist came down and told me off for being late for my pedicure which was upstairs (if only I had been told this when I arrived!).

As a result of their bad service my 1 hour pedicure was rushed through in 45 minutes.

If Bliss San Francisco is anything like Bliss London, then the product is marketed to a younger audience using sporty-sounding humor.

I'm not convinced that you get what a spa should really offer, i.e. staff who really understand the importance of timing when it comes to spa treatments and who have a thorough knowledge of the body.

The treatment rooms were reminiscent of a hospital ward, and when mistakes in the treatment were made, as many were, the therapist did not have the grace, or perhaps necessary experience, to compensate for them.

The changing room was very small and rather grubby. I was more or less coerced into giving an 8% tip. The extroverted, happy-happy approach of the service staff was rather off-putting because a) so many other things weren't on the button and b) it was so obviously trained and unauthentic.

It's a nice idea to offer first-class treatments in a fun atmosphere, but only if the real product is up to par. In San Fran, the standard needs to get much, much better before I'd visit again.

Went to get my eyebrows done but was not happy with the results. The therapist had no idea of where to place the arch of my brow. Will not go back - I'll stick to my fantastic brow lady in Harrods.

The best facial I've ever had. The therapist was really knowledgeable and did an amazing job. Highly recommended, but do be warned though - it's not cheap!
