Renowned restaurateur Alan Yau has created a uniquely Japanese experience in Sake no hana (Sake Flower). Dishes are an eclectic mix of creative modern and more homely traditional dishes that steer well clear of Western influences. The drinks list is dominated by saké and topped up with a choice of cocktails and Champagnes. A saké tasting menu is als available for £65 a head.

I have visited Sake No Hana several times and find it the alternative for fine Japanese dining in London. It serves ultra fresh sushi at a reasonable price. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that the alcohol menu can be overwhelming - even with the help of the waiters. However, if you're a Nobu or Zuma lover, you might find the food lacking in modern flair and fusion twist.
