Trevor Sorbie reviews
The colouring and haircut was to the standard I expected, however timing has been a problem: a quarter of an hour late, next time half an hour late and the last time three quarters of an hour late. Not acceptable. We missed the train we should have caught, which made us late for a party.

It's my favourite salon. Also had Jess for colour. She's really nice and her work is so, so detailed. Was a bit less happy with the last haircut I had there. They changed the person I'd booked at the last minute because my colour took longer. This stylist's interpretation of a 'wavy' blowdry was a tiny bit OTT - I looked like Cher in Moonstruck. Still, I always go back because I just love the down-to-earth atmosphere and the energy.
And I also went back for a rather expensive cut with a senior top stylist, for £80, and it was the best cut I've ever had - endless compliments!

My first visit and I absolutely loved it. Kate cut my hair. I felt so confident with her - she cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I felt like a million dollars when I walked out of the shop, which hasn't happened for a long, long time. I would highly recommend this salon, as the entire staff were extremely dedicated, conscientious and very friendly. Definitely going back.

All they care about is taking your money. The colourist was so rushed - reception had booked in so many clients for him that he hardly had a minute for me and was rushing between two clients at once. Needless to say, my colour is a disaster, the worst I have ever had.

After reading the reviews here, I decided to give the salon a whirl. Very impressed and will definitely be going back! Had highlights with Jess - best colour I have had in years - and a lovely restyle done by Elsa. All in all, well worth the money.

I had read rave reviews about the international creative director (won the BHA 2007), so made an appointment thinking I was in for a treat. Boy, was I wrong! Firstly, he was half an hour late and did not apologise. Secondly, though he was pleasant and friendly, he gave me an awful haircut. I was left with a very razor-cut layer cut (not what was discussed) and all my freshly coloured hair was ruined. Now I will have to get extensions! Not worth the money, time or energy. Won't be returning, ever!

I had my hair re-styled by Trevor today and I'm over the moon. I have had so many compliments already. The salon is very down to earth and relaxed and you're made to feel special.

I am a hairdresser, and have been for 25-plus years. All I can say is, well done! I was very impressed (and it's not like I work in back street salons, I've worked in really nice places). I would just like to say to all your clients who have complained, you get treated the way you treat people. So, thank you Roberto, loving my haircut (even though I was not sure on the blow dry).

I went to Trevor Sorbie for a free haircut with one of their trainees and it was brilliant! I felt like a princess - he spent 3 hours cutting my hair but was very confident and sweet. The haircut came out fantastic!

I travelled a long distance just to have a consultation with the 'creative director', to talk about hair colour. I found it frustrating that he wasn't really listening to me and that anything I did say wasn't that important. I got the impression that he was too busy to be bothered. The 3 minute consultation took me a 2 hour train journey there. I didn't expect a long consultation, but just a little proffesional help. Trevor, take note!

Sorted my hair out after a major cutting disaster from 'trendy' East London salon on the spot. I had a consultation with a 'senior top stylist' and she knew exactly what I was looking for. We looked at pictures just to be sure and she talked me through her ideas. Although she was expensive, the relief I felt having confidence in someone cutting my hair - and the benefit of walking out feeling great - is so worth it. Just proves sometimes the old names are still the best.
If you just can't find a good hairdresser any more and are worrying over the high prices, swallow the £80 for 'senior top stylist' and feel at peace, you've invested well.

Not worth the money. Left a message on the day of appointment saying that they had changed my stylist due to "a Client", and they charged me more for this. I felt very uncomfortable in this salon.

These guys sorted out my colour after a major disaster! Love the atmosphere - really down to earth, yet staff are complete experts. I'll never go anywhere else.

Have been making the 150 mile round trip to Trevor Sorbie every 8 weeks for the last 7 years. It is absolutely worth it. The best thing is that they take a long term view, so my hair looks and feels better than it has ever done.

Last year, I had one of the best haircuts I've ever had here. It took ages as my hair is long and thick, but I felt great for days after with my new haircut.
For if you can afford it.

Training does not seem to cover how to handle long(ish) hair. After washing (in a sink which had remnants of dark hair dye and strands of someone else's hair in it) my hair was slightly tangled so the washer used a metal toothed comb to pull at it from the roots toward the tangle. Ow!
My hair was cut to an okay standard - although after washing it myself I now find unequal lengths and stray 'bits'. However the stylist was rather sneery because I had obviously not had my hair cut for a while. Point taken. I won't come back to be sneered at!

Have had my haircut twice at the salon and the results are great. The staff are friendly and helpful and the stylist listens and offers advice. Have not been kept waiting but even if I had it would have been worth it! Love the coffee.

Total disaster - booked my appointment with the top stylist 2 months in advance only to find out ''he is no longer working on Tuesdays'' (!!) when I turned up at the salon. Considering the 2 months' notice required from my side and the amount of money I was prepared to pay on a regular basis, I am appalled at how badly this situation was handled. Clearly, they don't care about their clients (even loyal ones!) Am definitely not going back and not recommending this salon to any of my friends.

My last two hair cuts consisted of me waiting for 20 mins + before I was seen to. I waited an hour after a colour because my stylist was late. He likes to talk about sex and flirt with his male colleagues whilst cutting my hair, which I find unprofessional. Quite frankly not worth the money. Off to try Vidal Sassoon!
