Had a very similar experience to charlotte_28. Kasia, a 'stylist', had no idea what a little trim was and it turned out to be the worst cut I have ever had. It was nothing like what we had discussed and they said I could have a 10% discount on my next cut... As if I would be returning! Went to another salon to get my hair fixed and they did it for free as they saw how bad the job was.

Very pleased with Taylor Taylor. Everyone is very friendly and they are very good. I'd recommend Hana for colour and Danny or Siobhan for cut.

Absolutely the best place in East London. They truly understand hair and facial shape, so can advise you what do you should wear and why. I had colour with Yuki and cut with Perry. Thanks guys, I love it - and my boyfriend too!

Nickolas really understands what kind of cut suits me best and I've got pretty unruly curls! Everyone in the salon is always super friendly and I look forward to my next visit.

I am a regular at the Cheshire St branch of Taylor Taylor and always have Shinobu (Art Director). I am always really impressed with Shinobu's cut, her fresh take on my hair (even though I am not a new client) and the care and attention she pays to my cut. She is definitely the best stylist I have found in a long time. I will be lost if she ever goes!

Awful experience. I turned up for my appointment to be told that my stylist was running late. I sat in the lounge and was not offered anything to drink etc. 20 minutes later I was approached by the receptionist, who told me that the guy was running so late he could no longer cut my hair. I was shocked and astounded.
I had been so looking forward to having my hair cut at this particular salon. Never, ever again. I was made to feel uncomfortable and found the whole environment to be unfriendly.

I had the best haircut I've had in ages at Taylor Taylor and I thought the staff were really lovely and considerate. They asked how my day was, took my coat and offered me champagne. Siobhan was fantastic and I was really impressed that she did the blow dry (for my thick, longish hair) herself rather than passing it to a junior as a lot of salons do. The prices are very reasonable compared to a lot of other places in London. Highly recommend it.

Horrible!! Completely unflattering, if not ridiculous-looking haircut. It not only looks awkward, but I have had too much hair chopped off. I asked for a simple trim and the senior stylist, Kasia, understood this as: "Cut off about 8 inches"!
BTW, I went there based on the ratings here. Am getting the impression most of the reviews are faked by staff.

I went to TT today with my usual attitude: "It's all about the hair, I'm not hoping to to be pampered, just to be given a great haircut". And that's what I got! They are very busy and slightly distracted, because they are good at what they do. My colourist, Michelle, was lovely, gave me the exact colour I wanted and was super efficient. My cutter, Danny, was really friendly. I had to wait while he finished off someone else but was given a complimentary treatment for the trouble. The cut was quick but well done, and I left looking just how I had imagined I would. It cost exactly what was quoted too, which is rare. I will be returning. Give it a go.

Do you want a great haircut, complimentary cocktails, and very gracious and smiley staff? Go to Taylor Taylor - I have been going there for about 12 months, tried three different hairdressers and never been disappointed.

I'm generally content with my haircut but I have to say that the client-friendly attitude was non-existent. The receptionist offered me a drink in the most 'I can't really be bothered' kind of way and spent a lot of her time texting behind the desk. My hairdresser, who was an art director, seemed in a bit of a hurry and did not have many suggestions for my hair. I found this disappointing, as I wanted a hairdresser with ideas and enthusiasm; I felt as if she had come to the end of a long day. All in all, this wasn't pampering and I'm left wondering if I could have the same haircut for less and at a more client-friendly hairdressers.

My boyfriend picked this salon as a surprise for me, partly based on these reviews. It was intended as a treat. The website even mentioned complimentary cocktails, after all!
In truth, I was desperately let down by the whole experience. And I'm not even that fussy when it comes to hair! I'm pretty low maintenance and from surface appearance, this salon was one of the poshest I've ever been to.
It wasn't that my time at Taylor Taylor was terrible, just relatively bad, given the prices and supposed reputation. Let's start with something minor, like the cocktails. When I walked in, it was a baking hot day. It was boiling in the salon. I sat down on a chair and waited for someone to offer me something to drink. Nobody did. Even a glass of water would have done at that point! It turned out that they'd overbooked and there was works going on downstairs. I was told that I would have to sit on a chair at a table, away from a mirror. The chair was very uncomfortable and I was having to sit at a strange, rigid position for the hairdresser.
As for the colour... I tore out a picture of a magazine to show Perry the colour I wanted. In fact, I tore out two pictures. He said: "No problem". The hair colour I actually got was nothing like the pictures. I asked for light chestnut and what I got was dark, dark brown (most people thought it was black). I felt like crying but I bit my tongue and paid anyway (with my boyfriend's hard-earned money). Either Perry is seriously bad at mixing colour or the darkness came about for another reason... You see, Perry told me the colour would need twenty minutes. I was reading a magazine and not really keeping an eye on my watch. But then I looked and saw nearly 40 minutes had gone. Nobody came to get me. I kept trying to get people's attention. Eventually I did. Somebody else took me downstairs to wash my hair. Perry didn't look too bothered. He was too busy giving someone else a haircut.
After that, the service got a lot friendlier. The person blowdrying my hair was very attentive and sweet, but when I was finally taken to a mirror, the blowdry he'd given me was terrible! I certaintly didn't feel like I looked a million dollars. I've had that feeling at far cheaper places, like the chain Headmasters, for god's sake!
Look: this place is stunning. The washroom is like no other I'd ever seen. It looks amazing. But even there, the seats are uncomfortable and I didn't think the products were up to much.
I think this is one for the 'Shoreditch' crowd. Style over substance, I'm afraid...
This is just my experience - but based on that, I would NEVER go back.

Everything they touch turns to gold! I cannot praise them highly enough. I trust the staff implicitly. I have had my hair cut, my hair put up for a special occasion and beauty treatments, and every single time I am more than happy with the results. This salon has everything: good location, great decor and extremely talented and friendly staff.

I highly recommend Taylor Taylor, Commercial Street.
The interiors are beautiful, there is a nice atmosphere and lovely staff. Every stylist there knows what they're doing - they are happy to give suggestions and helpful if you have doubts. My favourite is Kasia - a great stylist. I often get asked where I got my hair cut.

Awful. I went for a cut with Kasia to sort out my hair, and got everything that I didn't want. I told her areas not to touch, and guess what... she chopped them off. I've never been more unhappy with a haircut before, and this isn't the first time I've had a rubbish cut from Taylor Taylor. I won't be going back.

Taylor Taylor is a rare gem in the East End. Shimol, who does beauty, is absolutely brilliant. Not only is she the lovliest person ever, she also does the most amazing waxing and pedicures. She really cares about what she does and makes the whole experience very comfortable and relaxed. Of all the waxing treatments I've had over the years, Shimol's are by far the best!

I've been going to Taylor Taylor for a couple of years now and would highly recommend it. Ask for Robbi - he gives fantastic cuts and is great to chat to. Nadia did my highlights recently and I'm extremely happy with them. The atmosphere in the salon is friendly and relaxed and the free drinks are a real bonus! It's quite pricey, but definitely worth it.

A friend of mine recommended Taylor Taylor to me at the beginning of the year and I won't be going anywhere else now.
I'm very hard to please, but Drew cut my hair last time and was fantastic. After telling him what I was after, he talked me through what would best suit my hair.
Great cut, great range of products, fantastic surroundings and good music - and you can't really go wrong with free bubbly.
Highly recommended.

I have been going to Taylor Taylor ever since I moved to London from New York four years ago, and I would not go anywhere else! My hairdresser is brilliant, and I love both locations - cool atmosphere, free drinks (alcoholic, caffeinated, you name it) and a truly talented and friendly staff. New Yorkers are hard to impress, but Taylor Taylor have succeeded in impressing this one!

The best haircut I've ever had. Nice surroundings, good music. Ask for Nickolas - I felt that he actually cared about my hair. This salon is not just for the 'Shoreditch Massive', it's for YOU!
