Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa reviews
I went to Nando at Richard Ward last week after searching London for the past 2 years for a decent stylist. I came out of the salon feeling like a queen! Nando is the best stylist I have ever been to and I really can't understand any negative comments about the salon. Everybody there made a massive effort to make my day special and they are all totally professional and outstandingly capable. I also had a facial with Mary who is a lovely warm Irish lady who gave excellent advice and made my day extra special. If you really want a treat ladies, go to Richard Ward - 4 days on I'm still smiling like a Cheshire Cat from the experience!

Excellent. The best salon in London, no question. I would recommend it to anyone. You have to go. I can't express how fantastic it is - it makes Toni & Guy look like primary school.

I went to Richard Ward on recommendation from a good friend, and travelled all the way from my home in Bournemouth to London to get my hair done there. I had been SO unhappy with my colour and haircut for so long, and it was a huge relief to meet David (colourist) and Adolfo (stylist), who both listened to what I wanted to achieve. (I don't have difficult hair, I just appreciate the fact that these guys took the time to talk through what my look and style was and how best to achieve and maintain it.)
Lunch was delicious - so fresh and tasty, beautifully presented - and everyone, from the receptionists to the waiters and the younger members of staff who shampooed my hair, was totally charming. All in all, this was the best, least pretentious and most glamorous salon experience I have ever had. Don't miss out girls, get on the phone and book your pamper day now!

I had Ella for my highlights a few weeks back and I believe she is the most talented hair colourist I have ever come across. Like the last person said, she performed nothing short of a miracle. She's also possibly the sweetest person I know. I will now absolutely not go anywhere else for my highlights. Great!

I called on Saturday and was able to get an appointment 3 hours later. I saw Danielle for colour and Sabrina for a cut. What they did was nothing short of a miracle. I really should have taken before and after pictures. The customer service was lovely. The music was horrible and loud at times but other than that I can't sing their praises enough.

Had my hair cut with Richard and my colour with Louca. They were both AMAZING. I have never been so pleased with my hair before. They listen to what you want and actually care. The salon is beautiful, with a great bar and spa. Worth every penny. I can't wait to go back!

I have my highlights done with Adam every 8 weeks and I could not ask for a better colourist. He always listens to what I ask for when I decide to have a change, and I get so many comments from friends, family (and even some strangers!) on how nice my colour is. I always leave with a smile on my face, feeling like a new woman. I'd go every day if I could!

Worth every penny. Had not had my hair cut in over a year. Booked Richard, who spent ages over my hair and is a true genius. Everyone is friendly and customer service is great. Definitely worth the spend!

I used to visit Adam at Richard Ward for highlights. He seemed to understand what I wanted: light platinum highlights toning with my natural colour, and not too many of them. Then I was told I needed a full head and he completely went overboard. I came out with a head of disgusting, yellow highlights that looked really brassy and cost nearly £300.
It was a shame because the salon is bright and friendly and in a very attractive location. Wonderful shampooing room and clean loos etc.

I find the review by hjoyce hard to believe. I've been to the salon for years and have always had a great experience. The staff are extremely pleasant - relaxed but professional. Nando always listens to what I would like and I always leave feeling satisfied and refreshed.

Couldn't disagree with the review below more. Perhaps this lady was having an off day herself? I too saw Nando, who can only be described as a hair genius - he's a fantastic hairdresser (in fact, they all are here). The one thing this salon is not is 'up itself'. Don't let this review put you off, this salon is the best in London.

Hadn't had my hair cut in a while and normally go to Michaeljohn but fancied a change. On booking I was guided to book with Nando. First impressions were not great as I was left waiting for 30 mins with people coming in to the waiting area every now and then to ask me who I was seeing. Nando was a massive disappointment; he really wasn't interested in my hair and kept bemoaning the fact that he had 'two more' after me. I really felt that he thought he was bestowing a great honour on me by cutting my hair. I specifically told him that I was growing out my fringe and he has for some reason cut one back in. Will not be going back to this bunch of prima donnas who should learn a thing or two about professionalism and customer service from the likes of Michaeljohn and John Frieda.

My sister and I treated ourselves to a visit to Richard Ward's salon before he moved, and booked him to do the cuts. To cut a long story short, we came out looking like convicts - worst haircuts ever! My sister has kept the pic to scare off muggers! Colour was terrible too.
However, having said that, I've been to new the salon and found the atmosphere great and the customer service faultless. Excellent senior stylists and the colourists are the best in London. Having visited and re-visited quite a number of top London salons (including Michaeljohn, Nyumba, etc), I can say Richard Ward's salon now tops the list.

I've been going to this salon for four years and I love it. I am always welcome, the customer service is faultless and both my colourist and stylist are excellent.
Tip: the more senior people are not always the best in the salon!

My daughter treated me for my birthday to a manicure, pedicure and wash and blowdry. It really was a fabulous experience! The buzz of the salon was so exciting and the team really made me feel special and pampered me completely. It was my first time being in a London salon and, although my other daughter has her own salon in Spain (which I love too!), this really was an experience to be had. It was a buzzy Friday afternoon, all the customers looked like they were enjoying themselves, and the entire salon team contributed to a great atmosphere all round. Well done to everyone and thanks for a wonderful afternoon.

This is the friendliest salon in London. All the staff were really welcoming and made me feel very special. I have also learned how to blow dry my hair properly for the first time in my life. Will definitely be going back.

Clare is the best hot waxer in London. I feel like a new woman. Will definitely be going back.

I would have to agree with Ursula's comments below. I was happy with the cut and colour but I found the customer service appalling. It was my first time in the salon and I had to look for someone myself to blow dry my hair! I was left waiting then, and in the end had to blow dry it myself. For the money you pay here, customer service is crucial. I would not return again I'm afraid.

I was soooo happy with my haircut and the whole experience was first class! I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

I went for a full head of highlights and was very pleased with the colour. Unfortunately, whilst I cannot fault the salon staff's technical expertise and judgement, I was let down by the service.
I understand that it was a Saturday afternoon and people were 'winding down', but having staff engage in personal conversations over your head, juniors play-fighting in the background and generally being rushed along, does not make for a pleasurable experience.
London is a big place, with a huge choice of premium hair salons that have stylists and colourists on a par with those at Richard Ward. In the face of poor customer service, the staff's technical expertise is simply not enough to make me return.
