I love this salon - it's always such a haven of calm despite being so close to Oxford St. The staff are friendly, Pierre is a hairdressing god and felt like a new best friend after only one appointment. And lying down to have your hair washed - genius! The lighting is really flattering too. The whole experience makes you feel like a princess, which surely is what every salon should strive for.

I haven't been to a hair salon in over 4 years and decided to treat myself one day after a friend recommended JLT. I love this place!! It was so refreshing to go into a salon that had a mixture of stylists and clients from different countries. Everyone was very welcoming. Anyone seeking a good stylist for afro hair should go here and ask for Melissa or Alison. More salons like this please!

Had my hair cut by Tom and colour by Roz. I wanted a simple trim but ended up with my hair visibly longer on one side than the other. Secondly, Roz was not nice (almost rude) and the colour was not good. I would strongly encourage people to go elsewhere if they are thinking of trying this place.

I was recently in London on a business trip and this salon was recommended to me by a collegue. I found the professionalism, salon style and service exceeded my expectations. I was also excited to meet an ex-Aussie as co-owner. I can't recommend more highly to you the JLT salon. Thank you to the team.

Having read the reviews on this website and spoken to a friend who recommended Tom, I booked an appointment for the end of August. I was not disappointed. I was
Tom's last client of the day but he never once made me feel rushed as so many hairdressers often do when they want to go home. He took his time in taking me from long to short and gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. It was exactly what I wanted and now 4 weeks later it still sits beautifully with hardly any styling required. I will most definitely be returning!

This salon has got to be one of the best salons in London. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and the juniors were all lovely, really helpful and gave brilliant head massages.

Having moved out of London, I returned to see Kate to have my hair coloured after a two year break and it reminded me that she is amazing! She knows how to colour hair and is very nice with it. I then saw Tom, who I would also highly recommend.
On the less positive side, the salon needs a little bit of a clean and there are a lot of juniors who could be doing more to make the salon one of the best in London.

I've just returned from JLT, having visited the salon for the second time. My first experience was good - the staff were friendly, the cut was great, and the salon was in tip-top condition. My only quibble was that they served wine from plastic picnic cups, but that is neither here nor there.
My second venture, from which I have just returned, was less than good. The receptionist was extremely rude, and checked my appointment while nosing through her chavy friend's Primark bag. I was not impressed. The hairdresser himself was vile, reprimanding the hair-washing girl and strutting around being bitchy to staff and customer alike. If I dared make any suggestion about my hair, I would receive a blank look with a high pitched "Errrrrrr... I dont think so".
This place, despite being in central London, reeks of the provinces. It is the sort of place people would go to because there was nowhere else. My hair is fine - a little short, but I'll live. However, I can't get rid of the negative impressions fom meeting such a horrid person.

Have been going to JLT for a few years already, just like a friend. We were both recommended to ask for Pierre. Have both been doing so from the moment JLT opened. Always been happy. The best thing, next to the quality of the cut, are the most comfy basins where you rest your head on whilst hair is being washed. Together with the head massage I am always upset when the washing is finished. As someone who has had several hairdressers who made me look like less than elegant (including the 'big chain' everyone seems to love so much) over the many years I have been in London, I can't recommend JLT strongly enough.

I've been going to JLT since it opened. Pierre, one of the owners used to cut my hair when he worked at
Michaeljohn and I followed him to his new salon. It's super stylish without being pretentious and full of people who really want to make you happy and more importantly have the talents to do so.

Pierre is a wonderful stylist! He has been cutting my hair for 8 years. It's good to know someone who knows my (difficult) hair and my lifestyle and understands what I want. My experience with the rest of the salon has always been very positive and professional.

I visited JLT tuesday for the first time after a 6 month old recommendation popped into my mind after my branch of Toni and Guy let me down re an appointment. The entire team were friendly and genuinely sociable and I don't mean singing, posing or dancing around the salon like circus performers. I mean, real.
Had my hair coloured by Roz. What a darling! After a full consultation with Roz I trusted her completely and let her do what she wanted - now that's a gut feeling you don't get very often. Exactly the same for Pierre who cut and styled - the consultation was great - I simply trusted him to do what he felt best for me and now I have great colour and a fab cut. I walked in looking like a yettie and walked out looking like a woman and feeling fabulous. I will definitely return and have already recommended to my friends. It's well worth a train ride from Hertford

After scouring this website for reviews on hairdressers in the West End area, having moved offices recently, I decided to make an appointment at JLT. I just had to write this review to say the service and hairdressers were fantastic. Ros did the colour on my hair and Lisa did the cut and blow dry. Both listened to what I wanted and I came out looking wonderful. Even though the price for both together worked out about £130, I was very happy and would definitely go back again. It was just a shame it was pouring with rain outside so I had to cover my new hairdo with a plastic brolly!

I just moved to London and had a bad haircut at another salon yesterday. I decided to try JLT this morning. Lisa was very concerned and took her time to correct the problem. She gave me the best cut and style I've ever had. I'm glad the bad haircut led me to her!

Had a great experience in JLT last week, and so excited about my new hair cut! I had my hair ionic straightened. I have always had frizzy and unmanageable hair (it normally took me an hour in the morning to wash, blow try and put tons of products on my hair), but it is totally different now. I don’t need to do anything in the morning and my hair just looks so healthy, sleek and stylish. Getting compliments wherever I go, and feel like a completely different person. The salon was stunning and staff were really friendly... not to mention the free glass of wine that I was offered!

I had my hair permanently waved using ceramic set perm by the lovely Mr Jacky Li. The equipment used was imported from abroad and the results were far better than an ordinary chemical perm and much less damaging! The salon is modern, contemporary and offers a wide range of
beauty treatments to suit all your needs under one roof. Highly recommended.

I have been having my hair cut by Pierre for 8 years, so followed him from
Michaeljohn to JLT. The salon is light, airy and spacious. Getting your hair washed and your head massaged whilst lying on their unbelievably comfy horizontal recliners is a total treat, rather than an exercise in how far you can bend your neck back before it breaks, like it is in many salons. Pierre has years of expertise behind him and I have always trusted his judgement in what is best for my hair. I have recommended him time and time again, not only because he is a friend but because he makes getting a hair cut feel like I'm spoiling myself, which always makes me look forward to it. JLT is the best.

It was my first time at JLT today. I was stunned when I first arrived - the place is so nice, and the staff so friendly.
I had a ionic straightening treatment by one of the top hair stylists, Jacky Li. He was great, so skillful. The best I could ever ask for! I won't go anywhere else now.

I had my hair straightened by Jacky. He was professional, instructive and so very efficent, guiding and explaining to me clearly every step of the process. The time flew by. When it was complete I had my hair cut and restyled extremely well. Positive compliments from everyone, and at last I have tidy, controllable hair. Jacky is wonderful and all the salon staff are very, very pleasant and welcoming. I would recommend this salon without qualification. Jacky is a marvellous hairdresser and a very nice chap. I intend to come back again and again, so long as Jacky is there!

Following my appointment yesterday with Roz and Pierre, I have to say thanks again for my great new look. I am delighted with my hair and can't stop checking myself out in the mirror! The cut is absolutely perfect, just what I wanted. It looks really youthful and fresh and was so easy to style this morning. The colour is beautiful, imaginative, fun and quirky. I really feel myself again, after many months in a shaggy-haired wilderness. Thank you!
