Hari's reviews

I ventured to Hari's for the first time on Saturday in search of fresh inspiration for my tired-looking locks. I have curly, frizzy and unmanageable hair. I saw Hari himself and he knew exactly what I needed. It was so refreshing to find someone who gave me proper, realistic and straightforward advice on how to manage my hair. The cut was great. It was then blow-dried straight and, even after showering, on following his advice, my hair was curly but more in control. He is the first hairdresser to advise me to just enjoy my natural curls and stop fighting them!

I enjoyed my time there. The atmosphere was buzzy and fun. I even had a very quick manicure which transformed my short split nails into elegant and polished ones.

I will definitely be going back. Apparently, the hair stylists have all been trained in the same way, so next time I might try someone else at half the price - I have been assured they are just as good!

I've been having my hair cut by Benjamin and my highlights done by Paul for years now and I am a die-hard fan. Everyone is so nice and my hair always looks great (and I don't ask for the same cut every time I go in). It's sad to read about the bad experiences others have reported, but quite honestly I can't believe that they were actually at Hari's! I recommend Hari's to anyone who wants to treat themselves to an excellent haircut and colour.

Hari is a genius and this is the only place in all of London (or NYC for that matter) to get your hair cut.

Not able to afford a top stylist at Hari's, I went for the more reasonable cut and blow dry at £60. Great results at a great price and advice on how to manage my hair at home. Thanks!

I was recommended by a friend who had been to Hari's after reading the reviews on this site. Her hair looks great, so I thought I would give it a go. When I booked the appointment the receptionist took great time to make sure my appointment times were correct as I was having colour then cut and blowdry. This put me at ease.

I had a half head of highlights done, which looks great, and I felt the colourist really took the time to make me feel comfortable about my colour. It would seem the receptionist got it just right and I went straight downstairs after my shampoo.

The stylist (who had been to see me before my colour was put on) gave me a fantastic cut but didn't want to be too drastic as she wanted to get to know my hair a bit better. I will definitely be going back to see her as I'm thrilled to bits with the way my hair looks and makes me feel.

P.S. Was quite shocked to read some of the bad reviews on Hari's, but I suppose some people can't be pleased.

I went in for a model night with Phu. He gave me the most marvellous short bob and transformed me into a whole new person. Try out all the up-and-coming juniors - they're just brill! Highly recommend Hari's.

Very mediocre for the money. Paid £100 for a cut (which was a rushed trim as the stylist was running late) and £140 for a full head of highlights. The result was very average-looking. Not worth the money.

Went to Hari's after reading the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Had my hair cut with Hari, who knew exactly how to manipulate my hair to suit me. I disagree with other reviews and had nothing but a positive experience, coming away with a haircut that was versatile and adaptable to needs, whether I had to be smarter or if I was going out. Going back on the 27th and really looking foward to it! Much better than the conveyor belt cuts of Toni & Guy and the like.

I will always think of Hari's as the salon that gave me a mullet. My stylist mistook "Long layers, please" for "Give me a mullet, please"! I looked awful. Absolutely awful. I had to go to another hairdresser to have the remaining wispy hair cut shorter. I'd been going to Hari's since I was a teenager... I've never been back, and I never will.

As someone who is prepared to pay a bit more than average to have my hair looking good and well looked after, I booked in at Hari's after moving to London and reading about the salon in an issue of Vogue. The prices and reviews seemed to reflect a great cut and colour service and I felt I could entrust them with my hair... but I was left bitterly disappointed.

After an intial consultation with a senior colourist who was lovely, she recommended I wait a further 4-6 weeks before booking in as my hair had been quite damaged by sun and sea on a recent holiday. After bearing terrible re-growth for the next 5-ish weeks to get my hair into a better condition for colouring, I booked in with a different colourist who the original one had recommended.

After waiting quite some time to be seen, he finally came over to discuss my hair about 15/20mins into my appointment. I was told that he wouldn't be able to do anything with my hair in the appointment time allocated and I was to come back another day. So I re-booked, and when I returned had a slap-dash foil job done which wasn't what I asked for, wasn't done with any care and actually ended up a bit stripey. The lowest point though, was being left at the end to blow dry my own hair with no explanation. (Although I have come to learn this is quite standard in London, I did not know this at the time and was not even offered a pro blow dry for an additional cost.)

I was thoroughly disappointed overall with the service and have not returned since... However, on a lighter note, the Brazilian waxer at Hari's is the most amazing discovery and I would recommend her to anyone!!

My second visit to Hari's after an excellent start, and I'm afraid to say the standard has entirely gone downhill.

First of all, don't even think of going on a Saturday, they'll shove you in and out like cattle fodder. They were busy and couldn't give a damn about what kind of experience I was having, so much so that the shampoo was cut short and no conditioner was applied. These two guys pulled a thin metal comb through my dry, dry hair (which is normally easy and healthy).

He did the cut in about, oh, eight minutes and then proceeded to put 'body' into the blow dry by being so savage with his brush that my hair was pulled out. This morning I woke up with split ends and frizzy bits at the front.

I'm definitely complaining and getting my money back - too shell-shocked to do it straight afterwards (this was before I had a chance to wake up to the damage of my butchered hair anyway). It all went so fast - I was in and out of that god awful place in under an hour! And for £85!!

Go if you're a masochist.

I've recently started going to Hari's after having the same hairdresser for 10 years. Hari himself cuts my hair and I am thrilled with the results. All the staff who work there are fantastic. When I have taken my five-year-old daughter along on occasions, they are all wonderful with her too. I have recommended several friends to the salon and they have all been very happy with different stylists. Five stars. Highly recommended.

I went to Hari's after my sister recommended them and from reading the reviews here, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing like the glowing reviews here. I told the stylist I did not want a fringe, she went ahead and cut one - a short heavy one at that! I told her I wanted to keep my long layers, she basically cut several inches off to just below shoulder-length into what looks more like a bob with subtle layers, which makes my hair puff out. Awful and expensive. Would not recommend.

At last! I've found somewhere that finally knows how to cut and treat curly hair. My thick, frizzy hair really needed urgent attention. I'd had it cut about 2 months ago and hated it, so I decided to look for yet another hairdresser. A friend of mine had been to Hari's recently and was really happy, so I thought I'd try it. My stylist firstly listened to my current problems, managed to do what I'd asked for and gave me probably the best hair cut I've had for ages!

My hair had been looking dreadful for a while. I was recommended Sultan. He gave me the best haircut I've ever had, and a fantastic blowdry too. He is amazing and the whole team was very friendly. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else now. Highly recommended.

I went in and was allocated a different stylist to the one I was hoping for. No one offered me a drink at any point. My hairwash was just that - a hairwash. The stylist was running late and glanced at my hair and then trimmed a bit and it was all over. The final insult was when the receptionist, who I had asked to give the tip to the girl who shampooed me, gave me a busy/dirty look and said: "Why don't you do that yourself? I don't know who she is". I left in a rage, having forked out a lot of money to be made to feel I don't matter.

I first heard of Hari's salon through the 'Hair with Hari' column in the G2 supplement of The Times. After my winter break away in the sun my hair was looking bleached out and very dry, so I decided to treat myself to a good cut and colour.

I arrived back in London on Friday and tried to book the appointment straight away, but the only colour appointment I could get was with Paul, which couldn't have worked out any better. He really made me feel I was being listened to, and we worked out the colour from a picture I had brought along. Equally talented was Jesus, who cut my hair and did the most fantastic curled blow dry.

All in all, a fantastic experience that I can highly recommend.

I've been to Hari's today and I have to say I have no idea who wrote the previous reviews. Was it a receptionist or one of the hairdressers? Because I'm pretty sure it can't have been the clients.

I decided to go to Hari's after reading many of the reviews on Urbanpath. I knew they charge £100 for a haircut but I assumed that it was because the hairdressers there really know what they are doing. I couldn't be more wrong...

My first impression was that all of the hairdressers working there look like they need a haircut or colour - badly.
I don't think I have ever seen a group of hairdressers looking as bad. The salon look dirty and cheap as well.
However, I hoped at least they would do something good with my hair.

I was wrong. The colourist who was supposed to help me choose the colour insisted that I should choose the colours even after I told her that I didn't have a photo of the colour I wanted. Don't know why I expected that £200 highlights would be done by a person who could give me advice... (!)

I wasn't asked if I wanted anything to drink for at least an hour; when I finally asked for a coffee, I got it an hour later.

After waiting half an hour for the stylist to cut my hair, I was so unhappy that I couldn't even force a smile. Although the girl who cut my hair was really nice, she didn't look much like the guy I chose to do my haircut and had an appointment with (I wasn't even asked if it was OK to change stylist).

My hair is definitely shorter and has some strands of colour in it. But does it look better? NO, NO, NO. Please don't go there unless you want to spend money and get the worst hair experience of your life.

My hair has been looking dreadful for a while, so a friend recommended Hari's. I went to the Hari's Hair Spa and this started with a personal consultation with Hari himself. He advised that his ThreeinOne package treatment would revive my locks. First I had a sort of nourishing oil therapy, followed by the Aberdeen Angus Bull treatment, which left my hair massively shiny. The last stage was Kerastase grooming and then a re-style from Hari himself, who was no nonsense and gave me a cut I can easily look after at home. I strongly recommend Hari's to anone who's having a bad hair day!

I had been feeling a bit low, so I decided to treat myself to a proper colour at Hari's. I went in feeling drab and boring and came out a totally different person. The staff were extra welcoming and the atmosphere was totally relaxed and happy. I will DEFINITELY be going back and would always recommend Hari's to anyone!
