Cobella Akqa reviews
Always have had good experiences at Cobella Selfridges. Used to get my hair cut by Timothy but he's left now, so this time had Sebastian, who was good too. They are pleasant, the shampoo/head massage is always amazing, and the beverages are good too! Very relaxing and comfortable experience.

The Selfridges Cobella is really the coolest hair salon. Fantastic staff and amazing little touches that make it a fun experience. I really liked the massage chair that I sat in while my colour developed - it had a computer connected to the internet and it made the otherwise boring wait a pleasure. Super hair colour by the way!

A wonderful experience which truly made me feel and look '10 Years Younger', from the excellent colour by Maria to the new style by Runar and an amazing facial by Georgia. Try these guys and you will never go anywhere else.

I visited Cobella at Selfridges yesterday, and was appalled by the service. The colourist dyed my hair almost black (several shades darker than my original hair colour), when we had agreed I would go dark blonde! And to top it off, she was rude and defensive, stating I had changed my story when I pointed to my hair in shock and said that wasn't what I had asked for! £100 down the drain and my hair is ruined!

I went to Cobella in Kensington and was very happy when I left. Everybody was very professional and my stylist the best. I went inside looking very normal and I left so happy with the experience that I couldn't stop smiling. My friend recommended it to me - she's been going there for a long time and has never been unhappy after a visit to the salon.

I recently had a blow dry at Cobella in Selfridges. I had an important meeting in the City and naively thought that the standard of work in a top salon would outweigh my own efforts. How wrong I was! Had a reasonable wash/scalp massage, nice cup of tea... and then a blow dry my 11-year-old daughter could have improved upon! The stylist BACKCOMBED my hair at the crown. Truly, it was appalling. And the cost for this 40-minute visit? £55. (Yes, that's right, £55.)

I went to Cobella in Selfridges last week for a birthday treat. I had an all-over colour, which was fine. On the phone they'd quoted me £60 for colour and £30 for a blowdry. I thought: why not, it's a treat. The guy who did my blowdry didn't seem interested in how I styled my hair, and despite my request for a side parting and my fringe swept to one side he gave me a middle parting and fringe in my eyes. And then to add insult to injury my bill came to over £120! RIP OFF!! I didn't enjoy the experience one bit, the salon was deathly quiet and I had to ask for a glass of water and magazine. One good point: the blonde guy who shampooed me was charming and chatty, and actually made me feel like I was a welcome client.
I won't return. Overpriced and a waste of money.

Terrible colour - horizontal bands, bleeds, orange stripes - on an already blonde, just with slightly longer than normal roots. Rude and ridiculous staff ("When you leave here, you will look more beautiful than you ever looked in your whole life"...). Left looking like a dog's dinner. When I got home and saw how awful it was, I went back, someone took one look at my hair and they gave me an immediate full refund. Here's the shocker: it was the senior colour technician that did my hair!

On reading the ensemble of mixed reviews I took the plunge and headed to Cobella in Selfridges. A friend who is a loyal and long-term client of the salon highly recommended me to give it a try.
For someone who has visited many salons and never left truly satisfied, I was completely impressed from start to finish. On entering the salon it was a buzz of activity and I was greeted warmly and offered a range of different refreshments, which for once I wasn't charged for. My stylist did both the cut and colour and it was simply perfection. I was given the world's best scalp massage, which is one of the highlights of my salon experience.
I think these guys are great and will most certainly be going back!

I went to Cobella in Selfridges and I was very disappointed. First of all they made a mistake in the booking, so I had to wait for nearly an hour. The haircut was not what I wanted and the fringe was so short I looked terrible. I am not going back.

I have been to many very good salons and really look after my hair. I went into this salon with lovely, healthy blonde hair with pale highlights. As it was winter I wanted to go darker for a change (which I had done last year and absolutely loved it). I was DEVASTATED! The colour was so patchy and the cut was absolutely terrible. I never mind paying for my hair if it is well done, but this was a disaster and the hair wash/massage/blow dry was the worst I have ever had. DO NOT GO.

The worst salon experience of my entire life. Paid for half head of highlights, got a quarter, and my hair is a vile yellow colour with a dreadful dull frosted look. After my previously chestnut brown hair was destroyed, the trainee pulled the foils out without unwrapping them, so I could hear my hair breaking and feel it being pulled out (ouch!) with every foil. I was then subjected to a revolting clammy attempt at a head massage while he mouthed words at another stylist over me. The blowdry guy then yanked my head around, burning my scalp, pulling my hair till it hurt, and left me with the weirdest alien-shaped hair! When I told the colourist that I wasn't happy, she said I could grow it out!
Would love to go back and ask them to fix the colour, but can't bring myself to set foot in the place again, so I'll just have to kiss goodbye to the money and go somewhere better.

Overrated. Rude people - 'too cool for skool' staff members who are more interested in organising their social lives...
As a special treat to myself I went to Cobella at Selfridges a couple of months before my wedding. I don't live in London, so made a 3 hour round trip. It wasn't worth the pain. I'd already met my stylist at my consultation a week before and he was very pleasant. However, due to a train cancellation, I was 12 minutes late on the appointment day. Despite me having rung the instant I knew (2.5 hours before my appointment time), and calling a further 3 times with progress reports, you'd have thought I had strolled in without so much as a word! The stylist completely ignored me and put my foils in at the speed of lightening, yanking my very long hair all the while. It was hugely unpleasant and I was made to feel really uncomfortable. I wasn't offered a drink or any magazines and just had to sit there. The hair was nothing to write home about and the experience was utterly soul destroying.

Been to Cobella in Kensington a few times and never 100% happy, but yesterday I went to their Selfridges branch and wow, what a difference! I saw Jason for my highlights and I'm delighted. There was a problem with the creative stylist I wanted to see, so I had to settle for a stylist (Tim) for the cut, but to be honest it's the best cut I've ever had. I'm very happy and it's been worth every penny. Highly recommended.

I have been to so many hairdressers in London - cheap ones, popular ones, expensive ones - and I have to say Cobella have been the best I have been to. I had my hair done there a year and a half ago, only because I was at Selfridges with a friend who was seeing the beautician. While I was waiting I saw so many people that half hour leave with their hair looking amazing.
I actually went to the salon near High St Kensington. Afterwards, I had so many comments from random strangers and I loved it, but money was an issue. Since then I have been going to different hairdressers because all I wanted was a trim but have never been happy with the finish. For my birthday my boyfriend surprised me with a colour and cut from Cobella.
I have very dark brown hair and have been told that my hair cannot take the dye... blah blah blah. BUT Cobella gave me half a head of highlights - not a cheap blonde, but like a honey, caramel brown with the rest a glossy brown. The cut was amazing, with a fresh new re-style that makes my round face slimmer. I couldn't be happier. The colourist was Maria (lovely, bubbly, talkative girl) and hairdresser was Runar (a pro at his job and taught me how to do my hair at home to make it look fab). They never made me spend money on products. It cost me £147 and I think that great, considering a high street shop in Willesden Green were going to charge me £110.

I felt absolutely ripped off. Certainly did not get what I wanted. The stylist just kept waffling on about himself and wasn't even paying any attention to what he was doing to my hair. The shampoo and head massage was the only good thing about that salon. Would not recommend. Anyone who thinks that because it's pricey in there the result will be worth it, NO WAY!

I have just visted Cobella Akqa and really enjoyed my experience. The stylists who did my hair were fab, and the spa and reception staff were all very friendly. I've never been treated like such a VIP. Top marks.

I really enjoyed the experience. My hair cut was great. The stylist listened to everything I wanted and paid lots of attention to what I liked and did not like. It was very expensive (good job I wasn't the one paying!), but overall it's the best hairdressers I've been to so far.

Absolutely terrible. Have been twice and both times it was a disaster. The colourist is awful (I had to stay back till after closing whilst she dyed my hair THREE times to fix it). The stylist cut hair like someone who had only just stepped out of training college. They tried to sweeten me with a free shampoo but I told them to keep it.

My friend goes there and recommended I try it. Well, let's just say black hair with blonde highlights is not a good look! I paid £150 for them to basically ruin my hair - definitely not worth it. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
